Each year VAVF, with sponsorship from the Florida Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Impaired (FIMC-VI), hosts a conference for braille transcribers, teachers of the visually impaired, and students who use braille.
Workshop areas include use of the braille code for producing literary and mathematical materials, tactile graphics production, as well as a variety of other braille-related topics that could include braille instruction, scanning, braille proofreading, braille certification, and textbook formatting.
Many of the presenters are from regional VAVF groups. In addition, VAVF brings in national guest presenters who are experts in their unique fields of braille transcription software, tactile graphics production, and braille codes.
Save the Date for the annual spring VAVF Conference on May 1-3, 2017, in sunny Orlando, Florida! This will be the least expensive conference you’ll ever attend: $35 for VAVF members and only $55 for non-members. The hotel is only $89-$99/night and tax-free if you include it in your registration.
Anyone interested in networking with professionals working with the visually impaired, braille production and/or other tactile materials is welcome to attend.
